[owen] blame

I am very thankful for the social security system that we have in this country. Ruby and
I are blessed each month with a check and we are grateful.
I am simply saying that the social security could be in great shape financially if we had
left the money in it instead of taking it out and putting it in the general operating fund.
We can see that our government does not do a good job in administrating funds in any direction.
Fema, mortgage banking, social security management and on and on.
Both Republicans and Democrats are to blame.
Our present dilemma is not just because of Bush, although certainly some of it is, but it goes way
back to both democrats and republicans.
I saw in 1965 that both parties at the top are after power, control of the libertyies of the people and
for the most part we grass roots folks are just pawns in the game.
Yes the Ryder Cup matches are fun to watch.
Love,
Homer

  Homer --

I apologize for not taking your remarks about Clinton as seriously as I might
have. You seemed to be blaming Clinton for the current financial industry crisis
and I think such blame is nonsense. Might as well blame Clinton for anything
that goes wrong. Your laying social security ills on democrats seems to me
to be foolish blame-game stuff. For such a vast program, social security works
amazingly well. Just think of all the benefits that have gone to you, me, and our loved ones
through the social security program. Yes, it needs fixing. Some fixing took place
during the Reagan presidency. A bit more tinkering needs to be done.

Reagan famously campaigned on the slogan: Government is not the solution --
  Government is the problem.

Seems that many are convinced that government needs to come up with solutions to
problems created by those opposed to any government rules and regulations.

The Ryder Cup matches are entertaining.

  Lawrence
