Dan -
The man that wrote the piece might have gotten the $1.4 million a day from
this article:
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/health-care-reform/2009/07/health_care_cont
inues_its_inte.html
I would hope that we are all concerned about health care - who gets it, how
they get it, when they get it, what they get.
The monies currently in the health care industry represent 17% of the GDP -
so of course there are going to be power grabs, and self-serving wannabes,
and others interested in their interests, not the general welfare of the
whole.
Whether or not activities at the Town Hall Meetings have been pre-planned is
irrelevant, in my opinion.
Do I believe the opinion piece in McClathy's - sure, there are parts of the
opinion piece that I believe. There is a ton of money exchanging hands
right now for a piece of the action. As long as we bicker about whether
Down Syndrome babies will be put to death by "death panels" and not about
the specifics of the bill, we're lost. Come on, do any of you really
believe that the GOVERNMENT is going to go out and randomly, and not so
randomly kill its citizens because:
they voted against the current president
don't look like you
are old
have big teeth
aren't perfect
etc. etc. etc.
And don't get me started on the nincompoops who don't know that MediCare is
a GOVERNMENT-run program. Sheesh, I mean really.
take care,
beatrice

This article is nothing more then pure propaganda full of lies and
misinformation. How does this women know that the insurance companies are
paying 1.4 million dollars a day for misinformation. I know a lot of
people that are very concerned about what is going on and they are from both
parties. They have the same response, fix the problem ( saying this bill
is not the fix) with some common sense. The first thing they don't want is
government control. Come with something that is real, and the other party
has come forward with alternatives that are not even being looked at. This
has in mine and many views nothing to do with health care but just power
grab. There is no consistent proof that people are being organized, but are
simply upset about this being rammed down their throats. They do not want a
government official making decisions for there health care such as being
proposed. Even as I write this the tv stations are backing off the
premise that these people are organized. They are, but not by repubs,
independants, or dems. They are organized because they know a stinker when
they see one, party affiliation has nothing to do with it.. Down with this
nonsense and lets really fix the health issues with common sense. Hope you
don't believe McClatchy's article as fact. It's not even good fiction.
Cheers, Dan B
