[owen] In defense of ACORN

Dan -
It is a not-for-profit substance abuse facility located in Columbus, Ohio.
They serve clients, from around central Ohio, needing mental health and
substance abuse. The funding structure is complex. When I was working
there we billed out to clients, a wide variety of insurance companies, Title
XX dollars (federal dollars for women needing assistance), Medicaid, the
City of Columbus, the county, etc.

You funding question is not informative in terms of what kind of
organization it is. Halliburton is a government funded organization but it
will never be thought of as social service or not-for-profit.

Maryhaven, that if you had already posted it then I was sorry I missed it.
What is Maryhaven? Is it private, non-profit, or a government funded org?
I am just trying to get the background of your strong statements from the 10
years of working in this environment. I have said some of my beliefs and
experience but will give more later. Thanks Bea, Dan B

Dian and I have all 5 chicadees this week and we are going crazy trying to
keep up. That's why I am not writing more. What fun!
